Innovation and services bring Gerdau closer to the rural producer

| • | The Gerdau Group aims to work alongside rural producers by offering products that combine high technology, durability and ease of use. Gerdau supplies oval-shaped wire, barbed wire, wire rope for corrals, plastic-coated galvanized wire, wire and wire rope for agricultural products, staples for fences, post-spacing wire and high-strength steel fence posts. It also offers electric, conventional and welded wire fences for both rural and urban use. |

| • | Gerdau also promotes training and dissemination of know-how among rural producers through the Friends of the Land Club (Clube Amigos do Campo), which involved
2,700 participants in 2001. Part of this program is the Fencing Project (Projeto Aramador), a practical training program in setting out and constructing conventional and electric fences that are economical and durable. |
