27,000 hectares of pine plantation to service the timber industry

| • | Gerdau Florestal is among the largest suppliers of pine logs to the Brazilian timber industry. |

| • | With a total of 27,000 planted hectares in the states of Santa Catarina and Mato Grosso do Sul, Gerdau Florestal sold a total of 1.3 million cubic meters in 2001, maintaining the same level as in 2000. |
