The Gerdau Group encourages the ecological awareness of communities and employees. In 2003, we carried out numerous projects that involved a total of 38 thousand people in the Americas. We also trained five thousand professionals internally, accounting for approximately nine thousand hours of training.
Our projects are carried out in partnership with universities, the Brazilian Steel Institute (IBS), the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) and, on an international level, the International Iron and Steel Institute (IISI).
