Gerdau Group shares have been traded on capital markets for nearly 60 years, since the Hugo Gerdau Nail Factory (currently Metalúrgica Gerdau S.A.) became a public corporation registered on the Porto Alegre Stock Exchange and began paying dividends to shareholders.

Currently, the Gerdau Group includes three public companies: Metalúrgica Gerdau S.A., Gerdau S.A. and Gerdau Ameristeel Corp., the latter being responsible for operations in North America. Metalúrgica Gerdau S.A. is listed on the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa). Gerdau S.A. shares are traded on the Bovespa, New York and Madrid Stock Exchanges. Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. shares are traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
