Furthermore, the Gerdau Group is one of the world's top recyclers, fulfilling an important social function in Brazil through the recycling of more than two million metric tons of scrap metal - the raw material used for steel production. This activity generates thousands of jobs throughout the country and reduces the volume of city landfills.
