Costs related to food were R$ 23 million, a total that represents an average monthly value of R$ 134 per employee. During the year, 64 restaurants located at the Brazilian units served a total of 3.4 million meals.
Teams of nutritionists oversee the preparation of the meals to ensure that they are balanced and healthy. Employees requiring a special diet are served according to medical orientation and daily satisfaction surveys are carried out to improve our food services.

Easy access to Gerdau units
A total of R$ 24 million was invested in the area of transportation, a figure equivalent to R$ 138 per person. The Company also offers a special transportation service through 234 contracted buses and vans in addition to travel vouchers.
