RESULT-ORIENTED COMPENSATION

Recognizing the daily efforts of our employees

The Result-Oriented Compensation System includes a series of programs with specific objectives and goals that are negotiated between managers and their teams. The system also represents a recognition of employee efforts and accomplished teamwork. During the year, R$ 140 million were distributed as variable remuneration for those who successfully achieved their goals.

Main Initiatives

Goals Program
Our main result-oriented compensation program, the Goals Program encourages employees to reach new levels of productivity, quality, customer service and cost reduction. Remuneration depends on the objectives reached either individually or as a group and is based on goals established between employees and managers. Challenges that go beyond the planned objectives are also rewarded.

Participative Programs
In 2003, 4,000 employees participated in the development of improvements to operations, a growth of 62% over 2002. The 998 groups that form the Quality Control Circles (QCCs), the Problem Solving Groups (PSGs) and the 5S Program implemented 1,400 projects, representing a 65% increase in relation to the previous year.
