The rapid growth of the Gerdau Group and its objective to be a world-class steel company supported creating a new internal communication system for employees, launched at the end of 2004. The system is designed to strengthen employee pride and increase commitment to Group challenges. The communication system also provides a way to recognize superior results and contributes to train employees on their role in the Group's business and expansion. Initially launched in Brazil, the project will also be implemented in the future in operations abroad.


Internal communication
Represented by the image of a globe, the internal communication system is designed to convey international, contemporary, and world-class concepts to employees. It is a bold initiative that seeks to communicate content at the corporate and local levels. Pre-existing channels were used for new the model, and other vehicles were created and organized into four areas:


- Internal corporate communication (from the Group to the operations and units);
- Internal local communication (from the units to their employees);
- Internal direct communication (face-to-face communication actions);
- Specific internal communication initiatives (reinforcement and temporary campaigns).
