Trading of Metalúrgica Gerdau S.A. preferred shares on the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) moved R$ 4.1 billion during the year (+49.1%), for a total of 150,184 transactions (+21.7%). The average daily volume reached R$ 15.7 million, against R$ 9.8 million in 2005. The number of shares traded grew 43.1%, totaling 94.1 million.

Gerdau S.A. shares moved R$ 10.7 billion on the Bovespa, 18.2% higher than in 2005. The average daily trading volume was R$ 39.2 million compared to R$ 32.4 million in 2005, with 376,166 trades in the year (+ 8.9%). The number of shares traded reached 308.7 million in 2006, 5.5% higher than in 2005. On the NYSE, Gerdau ADRs moved US$ 6.1 billion (+108.0%). The average daily volume reached US$ 24.3 million, with 373.7 million securities traded (+70.1%). On the Madrid Stock Exchange (Latibex), 1.8 million preferred shares were traded, for € 24.6 million (+26.2%).

The movement of Gerdau Ameristeel shares grew 54.7% on the Toronto Stock Exchange, reaching Cdn$ 1.1 billion, for a daily average of Cdn$ 4.3 million. A total of 104 million securities were traded (104.1 million in 2005). On the NYSE, US$ 952.6 were moved, 113.2% higher than in 2005, with a daily average of US$ 3.8 million; 104 million securities were traded (80.6 million in 2005).
