1940 - 1969 |

The combination of a label and a nail was the first graphic expression of the Gerdau brand, associating it with the word “garantia” (guarantee). It was widely used in the 1940, 50s and 60s on packets of nails, receipts, catalogs and other printed material. The design associated the brand with metallurgy and nails, while Gerdau began to develop as a steel-maker in 1948, with the Riograndense mill.
Today’s packets of nails still carry the Gerdau Guarantee seal, which was restyled in 1993.

1970 - 1975

1976 - 1983 |
 |
The first Gerdau Group logo was born in the 1970s: two G's facing each other in the form of two arrows pointing upwards. This symbolized the identity of the company as a group, its spirit of cohesion and its will to grow. The logo was initially accompanied by the words “Grupo Gerdau”, later changed to “Gerdau”. |

1984 - 1996 |
 |
This logo was modernized at the beginning of the 1980s, with the addition of a blue box, which strengthened the image of the two Gs and their association with the Gerdau name. |

1991 |
 |
In 1991, in honor of the Group's 90th anniversary, the slogan “Qualidade pela Competência” (Quality through Competence) was added, along with a commemorative seal, emphasizing the statements “Quality in Products and Services” and “People as the Basis of Efficiency” from the Corporate Credo current at the time.
|

1997 |
 |
In 1997, this slogan was replaced with “Nosso Produto é Aço, Nosso Forte é Você” (Steel is our Product, You are our Strength), which was the result of a new organizational concept, focused on the Credo statements of “Satisfied Customers” and “Accomplished People”, and on the satisfaction of all the company's publics: customers, shareholders, employees and community. |
 2001 |
 |
Gerdau celebrated its centennial in 2001, adding a commemorative seal to the logo.
A handwritten signature “Gerdau 100 years” was also created, based on João Gerdau's own signature on the articles of association of the Pontas de Paris Nail Factory. The stars, besides symbolizing the commemoration, refer to the three great pillars of the company: João Gerdau, Hugo Gerdau and Curt Johannpeter.

Two versions of the corporate logo are currently in use, as shown here. The vertical form is exclusively for towers, building façades and helmets. |
