Steel is the most recycled product in the world. Old home appliances, vehicle parts, industrial by-products and steel cans, in short, objects that are discarded by society are transformed into raw material for steelmaking.

The Gerdau Group is one of the largest recyclers in the Americas, using scrap metal as a primary raw material, along with pig iron and sponge iron.
